What this book will give you

This book is for those who already read charts, their own and others', and want to go through the ninth house in depth. The ninth house is considered the very best house of the horoscope. I have gathered here what I said about it on the basic course and at the intensive on derived meanings: the nature of the house, its meanings, the lord of the ninth by house, planets and signs, the twelve reference points and how to check a teacher.

What you will get:

  • the names of the ninth house and its main meanings, which you need to know well enough to answer even at night;
  • the father, the teacher and the boss as living indicators of the house;
  • austerity, morality and dharma as the basis of luck;
  • the lord of the ninth in each of the twelve houses;
  • twelve reference points, each on a separate diagram;
  • planets and signs in the ninth house;
  • three ways to check a spiritual teacher;
  • methods of harmonisation and a practicum for your own chart and for consultation.

Twelve reference points

The ninth house can be viewed from each of the twelve houses. Each subsequent house feeds the previous one, and each previous one draws off the energy of the next. When you learn the derived meanings and understand them, they will surface by themselves in any difficult situation: “This is where to go.” You begin to think from the position of an astrologer, from the position of Eastern philosophy. Nobody invented this psychology: God put the whole philosophy into these diamonds and triangles.

First from the ninth

The ninth house by itself: the father, the teacher, the mentor, luck.

The father, teacher, mentor, boss, luck. Planets in the ninth house indicate our attitude to the father, to bosses and teachers. If Jupiter is there, the planet seems good, but the person tries to instruct their teachers. This is not a very good position. If you have this, watch it and develop humility, respect and patience.

Second from the eighth

The ninth house is the second from the eighth. Spiritual life as support in crises.

Spiritual life, piety and morality are factors of support in crises. When we have a big crisis, a chronic illness, we are on the edge, we turn to God, go to the teacher, to the temple, start praying. After death people invite priests to perform a ritual. Priests are the ninth house; they are the second for the eighth, and people in crises go to them. A person under threat turns to law enforcement. Lawyers, teachers, priests — all of this is the ninth house too.

Some schools of astrology prefer not to talk about dharma. In reality it is very important. People often come to an astrologer in difficult situations. If you skip the ninth house and switch straight to the third or tenth — “Go to work” — there will be no result. Dharma cannot be avoided; it must always be talked about.

Third from the seventh

The ninth house is the third from the seventh. Following dharma resolves family issues.

Following dharma is the resolution of issues of relationships in family and partnership. The third child is also looked at here: the first child is the fifth house, the second the seventh, the third the ninth, the fourth the eleventh, the fifth the first. They alternate every other house. If afflicted malefics stand in the ninth, before a third birth it is worth seeing a doctor once more.

For family life to be ideal, the ninth house needs to be worked through. There are scriptures describing an ideal family life. For many people the centre of the family is the TV, then the computer, then the phone. A spiritual family puts the altar at the centre: the husband chants mantras, the wife makes an offering to the deity, they read scripture and eat food offered to God.

Third from the seventh: at the centre of the family is an altar, not a TV.
Third from the seventh: at the centre of the family is an altar, not a TV.

Even if husband and wife have no compatibility by karma, they picked up a guitar, sang mantras, talked — and life is much easier. Their compatibility lies in dharma. This can't be done artificially: whatever tender words you say, without a foundation there will still be irritation. No family-life training compares with this. Even meditating together with your spouse is already great.
